Education
Judge Howse received his A.B. and J.D. degrees from Loyola University in Chicago. He was admitted to the practice of law in 1976.[2][3]
Career
Judge Howse was elected to the Cook County Circuit Court in 1998. He served in this position until his assignment to the Appellate Court in 2009.[2]

Howse was elected to the First District Appellate Court without opposition on Nov. 6, 2012. He was unopposed in the Democratic primary on March 20, 2012, as well as the general election. He will fill the vacancy created by Judge Sharon Coleman's appointment to the federal District Court.[4][5][6][7]
