Nathaniel McLaughlin (Democratic Party) ran for election for Kansas Commissioner of Insurance. He lost in the general election on November 6, 2018.

McLaughlin also ran for election for Kansas Secretary of State. He did not appear on the ballot for the Democratic primary on August 7, 2018.

McLaughlin initially filed to run as a Democratic candidate for secretary of state of Kansas. He did not appear on the candidate list following the June 1, 2018, candidate filing deadline.[1]

McLaughlin was a 2016 Democratic candidate who sought election to the U.S. House to represent the 3rd Congressional District of Kansas.[2] McLaughlin was defeated by Jay Sidie in the Democratic primary.[3]

Heading into the election, Ballotpedia rated this race as a race to watch. Incumbent Kevin Yoder (R) defeated Jay Sidie (D) and Steve Hohe (L) in the general election on November 8, 2016. Yoder defeated Greg Goode in the Republican primary, while Sidie defeated Reggie Marselus and Nathaniel McLaughlin to win the Democratic nomination. The primary elections took place on August 2, 2016.[2][3]
