What are administrative law judges and administrative judges? The National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary (NAALJ) is a 501(c)(6) nonprofit organization that, according to its website, is the largest professional organization devoted to administrative adjudication for the executive branch. The NAALJ has members in all 50 states, some territories, Australia and Canada.[1][2]

The NAALJ includes local, state and federal administrative law judges as well as other hearing officers and commissioners as voting members. The organization aims to improve the quality of administrative justice and to further alternative dispute resolution through arbitration and mediation.[2]
In addition to hosting seminars and conferences, the NAALJ publishes a journal and newsletter. Semi-annually, the group publishes its journal, Journal of the National Association of Administrative Law Judiciary, with Pepperdine University School of Law. The publication showcases scholarly articles about developments affecting the administrative judiciary.[4]
Beyond its Journal, the NAALJ adopted a Model Code of Judicial Conduct in 1993 that states have used to develop rules for judicial conduct.[4]
