- Increasing internet service quality by getting rid of the Cox Communications monopoly.
- Reducing the pain at the pump by getting rid of the sales tax on gasoline.
- Ensuring our police force is adequately funded and fixing the ratio of police officers to residents to ensure public safety.
I first decided to run for the Irvine City Council a couple of years ago. After being frustrated by the de facto monopoly that Cox Communications has in Irvine, I decided to run for the Irvine City Council to "bust" its monopoly. I want to make sure that every resident in Irvine has the option to go with an ISP that isn't Cox. By increasing competition, internet service quality will increase, and the price that people pay for that internet connection will decrease. Giving people multiple viable options for their ISP will also allow them to shop around, and get the plan with the provider that provides the best service quality at a competitive price.
