Heeren ran in the 2010 election for Massachusetts State Senate Worchester and Middlesex District. Heeren was defeated by Democratic incumbent Jennifer Flanagan in the general election on November 2, 2010. Heeren was unopposed in the Republican primary election on September 14, 2010.[2][3]
