Career
After graduating from Baylor University with a law degree in 1975, Neal "Buddy" Jones, from Hillsboro, was elected as a county prosecutor in Hill County, Texas.[1] In 1981, he won a seat in the Texas House. After his tenure with Lewis, Jones began to act as a lobbyist and, by 1998, had partnered up with William Miller to found HillCo Partners. The firm offers, in addition to lobbying, policy analysis, regulatory consulting, communications, public and media relations, procurement, crisis management, advisory boards, and grassroots organization.[3][4]
In 1999, Jones' client list included Neiman Marcus, the Bass brothers, including Robert Bass, the Dallas Cowboys, Microsoft, the Houston Rockets, AT&T, and Continental Airlines.[2]
In 2004, Jones was appointed to the board of regents at Baylor University.[5]
