  • I am an educator and a strong supporter of public schools, teachers, and staff.
  • I support workers and will work to protect unions and increase wages.
  • I support initiatives to make housing more affordable, as too many in our community struggle to keep a roof over their heads.
I am a strong supporter of public education and workers. I want to see schools and staff fully funded and supported, and I want workers to be paid a thriving wage. I am passionate about voting rights and will work to expand them in Kentucky. I will work to improve the housing and transportation situation faced by so many residents in our community.

My first job was as a clerk at a copy and fax machine repair store, where I stuffed envelopes with coupons to send out to customers. I worked there for three months.

We have to build a state that works for everyone, and undoing the damage caused by Republicans over the years will take time. We have neglected public education and failed to raise the minimum wage. We can change our policies, but it will take time before we can fully undo the effects of so much neglect and disinvestment in the past.
It saves a significant amount of time, energy, and money, as having two chambers doing the same thing is largely pointless. The idea of having two chambers derives from the US Senate and the British House of Lords before that, both of which are highly undemocratic. It could be argued that a bicameral system gives people twice as many representatives to petition and that the two chambers can act as a check on each other, but in states like Kentucky with single party control over both chambers, this argument doesn't do much.
It doesn't hurt, but we also need legislators with a variety of experiences. We need teachers, nurses, and social workers in office as well.

It depends on the policy. Compromising on a tax plan may be effective. Compromising on a human rights issue is a non-starter.
