Authority

The Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission was established by the Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Act. The commission creates the forms used for campaign finance reporting, accepts and files reports, and acts "as the primary civil enforcement agency for violations of the Nebraska Political Accountability and Disclosure Act."[1]

Organization

The commission is composed of nine members. One member is the secretary of state. Four members are appointed by the governor. Of those four, two are selected from a list decided by the state legislature, and two are selected from the citizenry of the state. The remaining four members are selected by the secretary of state. Of those four, one is selected from a list prepared by the Democratic state chairperson, one from the Republican state chairperson, and two from the citizenry of the state. No more than four members may be of the same party, and one must be independent.[2][3]

Electronic reporting system

The Nebraska Accountability and Disclosure Commission maintains a system for viewing campaign finance reports. The system can be accessed here.
