Nebraska Supreme Court Judge Now a Federal Judge

Nebraska: Nebraska Supreme Court Judge John Gerrard, nominated by President Barack Obama in May of 2011, was confirmed by the United States Senate, 74-16, to be a United States District judge for the District of Nebraska.[1][2]
Judge John Gerrard will be succeeding retired District Judge Richard Kopf.[3]
John Gerrard has served on the Nebraska Supreme Court since 1995. He is a native of Schuyler and had a private practice from 1981 until 1995. A 1976 graduate of Nebraska Wesleyan University, Gerrard earned his law degree from the McGeorge School of Law at the University of the Pacific in 1981.[3]
