Neil Misra is a lifelong resident of Salem, New Hampshire, and a graduate of Salem High School. He completed his undergraduate degree at George Washington University (summa cum laude). During his undergraduate studies, he simultaneously interned for Congresswoman Ann Kuster (NH District 2). Following college, Misra completed a master's degree in International Politics at Cambridge University and a second master's degree in Global Area Studies at Oxford University. While at Oxford, he served as the Graduate Vice President of the Oxford Student Union.
  • Keep abortion legal in the state of New Hampshire.
  • Reduce exorbitant energy costs by switching over to lower-cost renewables sources.
  • Legalize recreational, adult-use cannabis.
In all areas of public policy, I am passionate about protecting the rights of the people of New Hampshire. Within the realm of healthcare, I am passionate about preserving the right to an abortion and access to reproductive health services. Within the realm of energy, I am passionate about protecting the right to affordable, clean energy (by transitioning to lower-cost, cleaner renewable energy sources). Within the realm of education, I am passionate about protecting the right to a high-quality public education for every child. For this reason, I will fight to repeal the state's reckless school voucher program, which siphons taxpayer money from public schools and gives that money away to private schools. Within the realm of personal freedoms, I am passionate about responsibly enshrining the right to legalized adult-use cannabis. Ultimately, I want to bring a more compassionate style of leadership to Concord, and I will fight to ensure a brighter future for all of New Hampshire.
Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck. It is a phenomenal classic.
1. Ensuring that reproductive rights are not compromised in any way. State legislators have already introduced a bill this year to ban abortions beyond 6 weeks (HB 1477). They also introduced a bill that would effectively allow prospective fathers to “veto” one’s right to get an abortion (HB 1181). These bills represent an unprecedented attack on the right to bodily autonomy and on our freedoms. I will fight to keep abortion legal.

2. Lowering energy costs. Right now, energy costs are far too high. We can simultaneously reduce energy costs and make our grid cleaner by switching to lower-cost renewable sources. Currently, New Hampshire has the lowest renewable energy targets in the region—a pitiful 25%. I will raise those targets and provide savings for Granite Staters.

3. Protecting the integrity of our public school system. About 90% of NH children attend public schools, so it is essential that our public schools are adequately funded. In NH, the Republicans have introduced a reckless school “voucher” program that effectively siphons taxpayer money from the public school system and gives it away to private schools. The Republicans budgeted $130k for this program—it has now cost over $8 million, putting it a whopping 6000% over budget. Unsurprisingly, it is the public that must bear the economic burden of this wasteful program through their property taxes. I will put an end to this profligate disaster, restore fiscal responsibility to our state’s finances, and make sure that our wonderful public schools get their funding back.
