Campaign website
Young’s campaign website stated the following:
“ |
The 6th Congressional district is home to over 100,000 students in grades K-12, and the time has come to open up our education system to the free market of competitive ideas. Just as iron sharpens iron, giving parents the opportunity to choose their child’s school will be the proverbial tide that raises all ships. Amplifying the need for Educational Freedom locally and nationally is an issue that I plan to bring to the halls of Congress. Like I’m sure all of you are, I’m angry and heartbroken at the place our current administration has taken us to. Our Border is a mess: 2.5 million illegal immigrants a year Drugs, Trafficking, and even terrorist pouring into our country.(254) As the father of an adopted son from Ethiopia I am well aware of the legal process to immigrate to this country and it is deliberate, costly, and orderly. And that is what it must be Record Inflation is stealing what we work so hard for: We must address its root causes massive overspending restrictive energy policies. Limit the power and reach of unelected executive bureaucracy. Our disastrous foreign Policy? I’ve been to East Africa twice for the adoption of my son and to help supply and improve the orphanage that housed him. I’ve been to Afghanistan on 3 different occasions to help train teachers and work with students who were attending school for the first time since the fall of the Taliban. And while I’m not a foreign policy expert, I know enough to say that our withdrawal from Afghanistan was disastrous and our regional allies do not trust that we have their backs. We must not waver in our support of those fighting terrorism abroad and we must regain our place as the strongest and most just nation in the world, because a stronger America means a more peaceful world.[2] |
