Nelson E. Bailey is a judge of the Palm Beach County Court in Florida. He was appointed by Governor Lawton Chiles in 1995.[1][2][3] Bailey did not seek reelection in 2012, retiring on December 27 of that year, since Florida's mandatory retirement age of 70 would have forced him to retire shortly after the beginning of his term in 2013.[4][5]
Education
Bailey received his B.A. and J.D. degrees from Florida State University in 1966 and 1969, respectively.[1]
Career
Bailey began his career in 1969 as an attorney for the Florida Department of Agriculture. He then worked as an Assistant Attorney General, from 1970-1973, and a private criminal defense lawyer, from 1973-1995, before he was appointed to the county court.[1]
