Neria Douglass (b. November 16, 1952) is the former Maine Treasurer. She assumed this position in December 2012 and served until she was replaced by Teresea Hayes in December 2014.[1]

Douglass previously served as the Maine State Auditor from 2005 to 2012.[2][3]

Douglass served on the Auburn City Council from 1994 to 1998 and was Chair of the Auburn School Committee from 1989 to 1994.[3] She has been a prosecutor and a private attorney.[3]

Political career

Treasurer (2012-2014)

Douglass was confirmed for the position on December 4, 2012.[4] She was defeated by Teresea Hayes in a vote of the Maine State Legislature in December 2014.[1]

State Auditor (2005-2012)

Douglass began her first term as Maine's State Auditor in January 2005.[3] She sat for the Certified Internal Auditor exam in May 2005 and passed all four parts.[3]

Maine State Senate (1998-2004)

Douglass served in the state senate from 1998 to 2004.[3][2]
