The Nevada Open Primaries for Publicly Funded Elections Amendment may appear on the ballot in Nevada as an initiated constitutional amendment on November 3, 2026.

The amendment would provide for the right for voters to participate in publicly funded elections, and would not require a voter to affiliate with a political party in order to participate in a publicly funded primary election. The amendment would also prohibit discrimination against voters when it comes to voting based on their political affiliation.[1]

An initiated constitutional amendment is a citizen-initiated ballot measure that amends a state's constitution. Eighteen (18) states allow citizens to initiate constitutional amendments.

In Nevada, the number of signatures required for an initiated constitutional amendment is equal to 10% of the total number of votes cast in the preceding general election. A simple majority vote in two consecutive elections is required for voter approval.
