The New Hampshire Chief Justice as Administrative Head of Courts Amendment was on the ballot in New Hampshire on November 7, 1978, as a constitutional convention referral. It was approved. This amendment proposed that the chief justice of the Supreme Court be the administrative head of all state courts. In that capacity, the chief justice will be responsible, with agreement from a majority of supreme court justices, for governing procedure in the courts.[1]
