New Hampshire Committee on Judicial Conduct

The New Hampshire Committee on Judicial Conduct is a judicial disciplinary agency in New Hampshire.[1]

Note: State judicial disciplinary agencies do not have appellate jurisdiction or authority over federal court judges and justices.

Organization

The committee is made up of 11 members: Three active or retired judges (one from the superior courts, one from the district court and one from the probate court), an active or retired clerk of court, one lawyer and six members of the public. The judges and clerk are appointed by the state supreme court. The lawyer is appointed by the president of the New Hampshire Bar Association. The members of the public are appointed by the president of the New Hampshire Bar Association, the supreme court, the governor (who appoints two), the president of the senate and the speaker of the house. Terms are for three years. All members have corresponding alternates.[2]
