New Hampshire Gender-Neutral Language Amendment (1998)
The New Hampshire Gender Neutral Language Amendment, also known as Question 2, was on the ballot in New Hampshire on November 3, 1998, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. It proposed to make the constitution more inclusive by incorporating gender-neutral terms when referring to the governor and others.[1]

Note: Although this measure gathered more "yes" votes, it did not pass because New Hampshire requires that an amendment receive greater than two-thirds of the vote to be approved.
