New Hampshire Supreme Court continues tour, holding sessions at local schools

Moultonborough, NH The New Hampshire Supreme Court continued its "On The Road" program last week with a visit to the Moultonborough Academy. Students from around the area were invited through their schools to attend an open court session held at the academy. The students heard oral arguments in two actual cases before the court, and were provided with the oral arguments, case summaries and pleadings prior to the visit. In addition, volunteer attorney's went to individual schools prior to the event, including former N.H. Attorney General Phil McLaughlin. After the oral arguments, students were invited to ask the attorneys questions about matters not related to the cases. Then, Chief Justice Linda Dalianis, Senior Associate Justice James Duggan, Associate Justice Gary Hicks, Associate Justice Carol Conboy and Associate Justice Robert Lynn returned to the stage after removing their robes to answered additional questions from the students. Chief Justice Linda Dalianis told students during the question session that the tour was designed to increase awareness about the state judiciary among young people.[1]
