The New Jersey Public Question No. 1 was on the ballot in New Jersey on November 2, 1976, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment authorized the legislature to establish and regulate casinos in Atlantic City, with all state revenue going towards reducing property taxes, rentals and utility costs for eligible senior and disabled citizens.[1]
