The New Jersey Public Question No. 3 was on the ballot in New Jersey on November 7, 1972, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The amendment would have made the terms of the Secretary of State and Attorney General indefinite; they would have instead served at the Governor's pleasure.[1]
