New Mexico Amendment 6 (1996)
New Mexico Amendment 6 abolishes the state corporation commission and creates a single regulatory agency for corporations, public utilities, transportation companies, transmission companies, insurance companies and other public services. It was on the November 5, 1996 election ballot in New Mexico, where it passed.
Amendment 6 was a legislatively referred constitutional amendment amending the New Mexico Constitution. It was one of seven such measures on the 1996 ballot in the state. All of them passed.
