The New Mexico Ballot Proposal: Residence in Municipal Bodies, also known as Constitutional Amendment No. 3, was on the ballot in New Mexico on November 4, 1986, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The ballot proposal addressed residence in municipalities.[1]

| CONSTITUTIONAL AMENDMENT 3 Proposing to amend Article 5 of the Constitution of New Mexico by repealing Section 13 and adopting a new Section 13 to provide for residence in an election from districts of county, school district and municipal governing bodies.[2] |
