The New Mexico Ballot Proposal: Restriction of Legislative Retirement, also known as Constitutional Amendment No. 1, was on the ballot in New Mexico on November 8, 1988, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. The ballot proposal allowed for the restriction of legislative retirement.[1]
