The New Mexico Bond Question: Education Capital Expenditures, also known as Education Bond, was on the ballot in New Mexico on November 8, 1988, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The ballot question allowed for the issuance of $50,550,000 in bonds for capital expenditures of stated educational institutions.[1]

Text of measure

The question on the ballot:

1. The 1988 Capital Projects Bond Act authorizes the issuance and sale of Educational Bonds. Shall the State of New Mexico be authorized to issue general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed fifty million five hundred fifty thousand dollars ($50,550,000) to make capital expenditures for certain state educational institutions and projects, and provide for a general property tax imposition and levy for payment of principal of an interest on the bonds, as permitted by law?[2]
