The New Mexico Bond Question: Library Bonds, also known as Library Bonds, was on the ballot in New Mexico on November 8, 1988, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The ballot question allowed for the issuance of $1,525,000 for books and audio-visual materials for public libraries.[1]

Text of measure
The question on the ballot:
4. The 1988 Capital Projects Bond Act authorizes the issuance and sale of Library Bonds. Shall the State of New Mexico be authorized to issue general obligation bonds in an amount not to exceed one million five hundred twenty-five thousand dollars ($1,525,000) to make capital expenditures for the purchase of books and audio-visual materials at public libraries, and provide for a general property tax imposition and levy for payment of principal of and interest on the bonds, as permitted by law?[2] |
