New Mexico's Constitutional Amendment 4 was a legislatively referred constitutional amendment that proposed to repeal Section 22 of Article 2, which mandated that unless otherwise provided by law, aliens who were not eligible to become citizens, and corporations majority-owned by such aliens, were prohibited from acquiring any interest in real property in New Mexico.
Status
The measure failed with yes votes of 49.0% in 2002.
