New Mexico Mid-Term Salary Increases, Amendment 2 (2008)
The Mid-Term Salary Increases Amendment was on the November 4, 2008 ballot in New Mexico. It was one of five proposed constitutional amendments the New Mexico Constitution that were legislatively referred to the ballot by the New Mexico State Legislature.
The proposed amendment amended Article 10, Section 1 of the Constitution of New Mexico to allow for midterm salary increases for county officers.
Senator Nancy Rodriquez introduced Senate Joint Resolution 7 (SJR 7) which authorized placing the proposed amendment on the ballot.
This measure was defeated at the polls on November 4. See 2008 ballot measure election results.
