The New Mexico judicial elections of 2010 consisted of a Primary Election on June 1, 2010 and a General Election on November 2, 2010.

Supreme Court

The New Mexico Supreme Court elects judges to terms lasting eight years.[1]

Charles Daniels and Petra Jimenez Maes were both retained by voters on November 2, 2010.[2]

Court of Appeals

The New Mexico Court of Appeals elects judges to terms lasting eight years.[1]

Position 1 (D): Robert Robles (R): Ned S. Fuller[3] Robert Robles was up for re-election. Robles received 50.8% while Fuller received 49.2%[4]
Position 2 (D): Linda Vanzi and Dennis Montoya Linda Vanzi was up for re-election. Linda Vanzi won with 53.5% of the vote.[4]
Position 3 (D): Timothy Garcia Timothy Garcia was up for re-election. Garcia was re-elected with 100% of the vote.[4]

Michael Bustamante and Celia Castillo were both retained by voters on November 2, 2010.[5]

District courts

The New Mexico District Court elects judges to terms lasting six years.[1]

District 1, Division 2 (D): Sarah M. Singleton and Peter V. Culbert Sarah M. Singleton won the Democratic Primary. Sarah M. Singleton ran unopposed and received 100% of the vote.[4]
District 1, Division 5 (D): Yvonne Kathleen Quintana and Sheri Raphaelson Sheri Raphaelson won the Democratic Primary with 60% of the vote. Sheri Raphaelson ran unopposed and was re-elected with 100% of the vote.[4]
District 1, Division 7 (D): David Thomson and T. Glenn Ellington David Thomson won the Democratic Primary with 55% of the vote. T. Glenn Ellington was re-elected with 100% of the vote.[4]

District 2, Division 4 (D): Beatrice Brickhouse Beatrice Brickhouse was up for re-election. Brickhouse ran unopposed and was re-elected with 100% of the vote.[4]
District 2, Division 11 (D): Gerard Lavelle and Edward Arnold Padilla Gerard Lavelle was up for re-election. Gerard Lavelle ran unopposed and was re-elected with 100% of the vote.[4]
District 2, Division 15 (D): Alan Malott Alan Malott was up for re-election. Malott ran unopposed and was re-elected with 100% of the vote.[4]
District 2, Division 20 (D): Jacqueline Flores Jacqueline Flores was up for re-election. Flores ran unopposed and was re-elected with 100% of the vote.[4]
District 2, Division 23 (D): Shannon Bacon and Lori L. Millet Shannon Bacon won the Democratic Primary Bacon ran unopposed and was re-elected with 100% of the vote.[4]
District 3, Division 1 (D): Manuel I. Arrieta (R): Richard B. Wellborn Manuel L. Arrieta was up for re-election. Arrieta won and was re-elected with 53.6% of the vote.[4]

Magistrate Court Division 6 (D): Maria E. Rodriguez, Jose L. Cano and Francisco M. Ortiz (R): Ray Storment Cano won the Democratic primary. Cano won with 55.1% of the vote.[15]

David Joel Garnett was elected the Magistrate Court. Sue Moore ran unopposed for re-election to the Probate Court and was re-elected. Both are Democrats.[35]

Rio Arriba County

Magistrate Court Division 1 (D): Joseph Madrid and Arthur H. Rodarte Madrid won the primary with 59.6% of the vote. Madrid won with 100% of the vote.
Magistrate Court Division 2 (D): Alex M. Naranjo and Angela M. Gallegos Naranjo won the primary with 63.5% of the vote. Naranjo won with 100% of the vote.
Probate Court (D): Henry J. Ochoa, Marvyn V. Jaramillo and Marlo R. Martinez Martinez won the primary with 45.1% of the vote. Martinez won with 100% of the vote.

For the Magistrate Court, Charles R. Perez was the Democratic nominee and Linda J. Short the Republican.[38] Linda J. Short won the election, receiving 76.7% of the vote.[39]

Sandoval County

Magistrate Court Division 3 (D): Delilah M. Montano-Baca Montano-Baca ran unopposed in her bid for re-election Montano-Baca was re-elected with 100% of the vote.
Probate Court (D): Charles J. Aguilar and Stevan Jay Schoen (R): Mary O. Kwapich Charles J. Aguilar was up for re-election.[40] Mary O. Kwapich won with 54.4% of the vote.

Republicans Jody D. Druce and Thomas G. Pestak competed for Magistrate Court Judge. Pestak won the primary with 78.6% of the vote. Then he won the general election with 100% of the vote.[50]

Magistrate Court Division 3 (D): Phillip A. Romero (R): John W. Sanchez John W. Sanchez was up for re-election. Sanchez won with 58.8% of the vote.
Probate Court (D): Alicia Aguilar, Toby E. Jaramillo, Marilyn M. Silva, Angela V. Miramontes and Christian T. Garcia (R): Jaime J. Baca Renya A. Carrejo left office and Garcia and Baca competed in the general election. Baca won with 50.9% of the vote.

Municipal courts

There were various elections in the New Mexico Municipal Courts in 2010. In Valencia County, for the Municipal Court of Belen, there were three candidates for municipal judge: incumbent Kathy Savilla, Eleutero Roy Gonzales and Gilbert Garcia. Kathy Savilla retained her seat on March 7, 2010.[61]

For the Municipal Court of Los Lunas there were two candidates: incumbent Jeff Aragon and Stephanie W. Williams.[62] Aragon won, winning the majority of votes.[63]

Elise A. Larsen and Ida Ortiz announced their candidacy for an open judgeship on the Grants Municipal Court. Elise A. Larsen was elected.

Steven Lee ran for re-election to the Alamogordo Municipal Court.[64] He was re-elected, receiving 1396 votes and defeating his opponent Ronald Banerji.[65]
