New Polk County judge appointed

Polk County, Iowa: Romonda Belcher-Ford has been appointed to a judgeship in Polk County, Iowa (District 5). She was selected by the Polk County district judges out of 20 other applicants and is the first African-American female judge to hold office in Iowa. The 42-year-old former assistant Polk County attorney claimed to be "truly elated" about the new position. She has worked in the County attorney's office for the past 15 years.[1]
