The New York Definition of Income, Amendment 8, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 8, was on the ballot in New York on November 3, 1959, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This measure permitted the "legislature to define income for income tax purposes by reference to federal laws."[1]
