The New York Limitation on Real Estate Taxes, Amendment 8, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 8, was on the ballot in New York on November 8, 1949, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This amendment changed the "limitations upon the amount of real estate taxes which may be levied by counties, cities, villages and certain school districts."[1]
