The New York Nursing Home Accommodations, Amendment 5, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 5, was on the ballot in New York on November 2, 1965, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. The amendment permitted the "legislature to make provision for nursing home accommodations for persons of low income."[1]
