The New York Salary of the Governor, Amendment 5, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 5, was on the ballot in New York on November 3, 1953, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This amendment authorized the legislature to fix the salary of the governor, by joint resolution to a $50,000 maximum.[1]
