The New York State Senator Terms, Amendment 2, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 2, was on the ballot in New York on November 8, 1938, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was defeated. This amendment was submitted by the constitutional convention. It would have repealed Sections 2 to 5 of Article 3 of the state Constitution and substituted new sections on "legislative apportionment and increasing term of senators from two to four years."[1]
