The New York Terms for Sheriffs, Amendment 4, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 4, was on the ballot in New York on November 2, 1937, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This amendment removed the "provision which made sheriffs ineligible for the next term after the termination of their offices."[1]
