The New York Village Indebtedness for Low-Rent Housing, Amendment 6, also known as Proposed Amendment No. 6, was on the ballot in New York on November 8, 1949, as a legislatively referred constitutional amendment. It was approved. This amendment extended to "to certain villages -- 5,000 or more inhabitants -- certain powers of cities in relation to indebtedness for low rent housing."[1]
