New state attorney appointed to Waterbury District

Connecticut: A new state attorney has been appointed to the Waterbury District. Maureen Platt will replace John Connelly, who retired in February. Platt has been a senior assistant state's attorney in Middleton since 2000. Prior to that she served as a prosecutor and worked in private practice. The appointment expires in 2012, at the end of Connelly's previous term.[1]
