A Newcastle Fire Protection District parcel tax, Measure K ballot question was on the November 6, 2012, ballot for voters in the Newcastle Fire Protection District in Placer County, where it was defeated.
Measure K would have altered the terms of an existing parcel tax paid by property owners in the district. The current tax would have been reduced from $146.46/parcel to $30/parcel.
A two-thirds (66.67%) vote was required for approval.

Measure K: "Shall Measure B, which established a parcel tax for Newcastle FPD so it could provide fire protection and rapid response services, be altered so that starting in Fiscal Year 2015-16 the parcel tax shall be reduced from $146.46 per taxable parcel (with an additional charge for structures starting at 3,000 square feet), to simply $30.00 per parcel (without any additional charge for larger structures and without increases based on the consumer price index)?[1] |
