I’m a husband, father, and overly taxed blue collar mill worker.
  • Lower tax burden, government should be ran as minimally and efficiently as possible. Focusing only on its core responsibilities to the public and stopping government overreach into social programs.
  • Strong infrastructure, one of governments actual responsibilities. Longview should focus on catching up with it’s deferred maintenance and provide it’s citizens with safe and dependable infrastructure.
  • Public safety, another government responsibility. Longview should keep its citizens safe and have no restraints when it comes to enforcing the laws. Police and fire should be fully staffed and ensured to be provided with advanced equipment to protect themselves and the community.
Putting government back in its lane! Stop the overreach and allow citizens to keep more of their own money to do with as their conscience leads them.
Jesus, He had no problems saying what was right and wrong. We need more of that in this world.
Honesty and integrity, do what you said you would do.
Knowledge, I am a working man and have lived the life of an average American. I won’t forget the struggles a new tax puts on us. The cost of our most precious commodity, our time, it takes to pay those taxes.
I would love to see others follow in my footsteps. To see average people with no political aspirations reluctantly step forward to right a wrong.
What comes to mind is the fall of the Berlin Wall. I remember watching it on MTV.
Agricultural worker with the family at an early age.
The Bible is the one I constantly return to. A couple other books I enjoyed reading were Count of Monte Cristo and Lonesome Dove.
No, I would say the only experience a person needs is the frustration that comes with trying to provide for your family and have the government keep reaching into your pockets.
Transparency is a fancy political word that few seem to follow. There is very little accountability that happens. Voters typically go down a party line no matter how bad their representatives are.
