I'm Nicholas Barassi. I was born and raised here in the 2nd district of Massachusetts. I am a US Navy Veteran. After my service, I returned to my hometown of Leominster, MA. My purpose in life is of service to people. I wanted to find another way to serve the our country and the people of Massachusetts. Currently, I run a small business with my younger brother and understand the battles small business owners face. My goal is to bring America back to her feet and bring back balance in Washington. We don't need radicals, what we need are people who there working for the people.
  • Government overreach is ruining family life, religious life, business activity, and community. During the COVID pandemic all the restrictions and economic devastation were the result of a government used to flexing power instead of respecting the lives, rights and liberties of its citizens. The government lost the trust of the people. Americans and the people of Massachusetts cannot let this happen again. We the People need to stand up and fight for the life we want.
  • I will stand up against higher taxation. We don’t need to make taxes higher, what we need is to stop the senseless spending. I want to keep the money where it should be, in your pocket. Small businesses are the backbone to our economy. We need less government regulation and oversight.
  • I stand with the people who served this country at home and abroad. Whenever tragedy hits, we look to all the men and women who serve. Over the last few years, we’ve seen such a change in the tides, from once heroes to villains. I served in uniform, and I will always stand with and for you.
Areas of public policy that I am passionate about are energy independence. We can see even now, when America is relying on other countries for oil and gas, we are weak. We need to start producing American oil and gas again to lower our prices at the pump and give us the independence from other nations. This does not mean however we stop our innovations and strides to use renewable energy sources. Elon Musk a leader in the industry of renewable resources even has said, renewables aren't where they need to be to replace oil all together.
Our border is in chaos. We need Congress to step up and finish the border wall. Everyday thousands of illegal immigrants are crossing our border. In having our borders unsecured, this promotes human trafficking (to include sex trafficking), drug trafficking, and unnecessary dangers to the citizens of our country, the men and women protecting our borders and the men, women and children attempting to make the dangerous journey to cross. I am all for immigration, but it needs to be done the correct way. It is unfair to the tax paying citizens and all the immigrants that came to this country legally.
I look up to President Ronald Reagan when it comes to politics. He is whose example I would like to follow. He understood that allowing business to be business and lowering taxes would benefit all. He also was a terrific public speaker and knew how to say something and when.
I believe the most important characteristics or principles elected officials can have is integrity, effectiveness, and transparency
I believe that the elected official needs to act in the best interests of his or her constituents.
Fortitude by Congressman Dan Crenshaw
This book talks a lot about today's society and different ways people can respond to situations that transpire. It was very inspirational to me as well.
I believe it's beneficial to not have experience in government/politics. I think people who aren't politicians have a better understanding of what the people want and will have the people's best interests in mind.
I would want to be part of the Veterans Affairs Committee and Small Business committee.
I believe term limits need to be put in place. We shouldn't be allow people to be career politicians.
I absolutely believe compromise is necessary. I think people need to be more open with ideas. It needs to stop being about Republicans vs. Democrats. It shouldn't matter who brings the policy forward, what matters is does this benefit the people and if not listen to people who are criticizing the policy. Our politicians need to be more receptive to helping each other rather than fighting each other.
