Nicholas Colabella
Nicholas Colabella is a former justice for the Westchester County Supreme Court in the 9th Judicial District of New York. He was first elected to a term that began in 1998. He was re-elected in 2002 and became a certificated justice in 2007. His last term ended in 2012.[1][2]
Education
Colabella received his B.S. from New York University in 1959. He then received his L.L.B. and J.D. from the Albany School of Law in 1962 and 1968, respectively.[1]
Career
Colabella began his career in 1962 as an associate attorney of David Greenberg, Esq. He then worked as a self-employed attorney (under the title Nicolas Colabella, P.C.) from 1964 to 1982. His judicial career began in 1981 when he was appointed Town Justice of the Eastchester Town Court. He served on that court until 1986. He also served as a Westchester County Court Judge from 1982 to 1992. In 1997 and 1998, he was an associate justice of the New York Supreme Court, Appellate Division, 1st Dept and, in 2001 and 2002, he was an associate justice of the Appellate Term of the 9th and 10th Judicial Districts. In 1998, he became a Supreme Court Justice of Westchester County.[1]
