My name is Nick Busse and I'm running for Roseville City Council. I served 13 years in the U.S. Army, am founder and CEO of a veterans non-profit, graduated from the Roseville Chamber of Commerce Leadership Class, hold a degree in Business, and formerly owned my own business. Along with my wife Maggie, I am also a parent of four school-age children, and a proud WestPark Jr Panthers Cheerleading dad.
  • Safe neighborhoods is always the most important issue facing any community. I will continue Roseville’s earned reputation as one of the safest places to live and do business in the country.

For families and small businesses to thrive, we need to prioritize crime prevention tools to reduce property theft, vandalism, assault, and drug violations. We must support policies to attract the best police, firefighters, and medical professionals to Roseville, and reduce response times.

I will encourage community hubs around small business centers and create more activities for kids, to safely connect neighborhood residents with one another.

I will promote programs like myRSVL which expedites repair of broken street lights and park equipment.
  • As a member of the City Council, I will champion the business growth that has always been a cornerstone of what makes Roseville an amazing community. If elected, I will: -Attract more high paying jobs in technology, as well as restaurants, retail, and entertainment opportunities -Support policies that speed-up development of desirable homes and business hubs, thereby lowering housing costs and more quickly bringing services to our neighborhoods -Ensure Roseville has a strong Rainy Day fund that gets our city through tough economic times without raising taxes. One of the most important jobs of any city council is creating a fiscally sound budget. This is so important for public safety, and I take this part of the job very seriously.
  • I will also connect residents with crime prevention and reporting resources through the Roseville Police Department, and our amazing Roseville Coalition of Neighborhood Associations (RCONA). Safe neighborhoods also means quickly building infrastructure like bike trails, roads, parks, schools, and retail so residents don’t have to spend so much time commuting across town. As a veteran myself, I’ll be proactive in fighting the cause of veteran homelessness, and attract mental health service partners tailored to the unique needs of veterans. Most importantly, I will listen to neighborhood residents and their ideas when making City Council decisions that keep our community safe and thriving.

Fiscal responsibility
Listening, doing your homework, working as a team. Connecting residents to the amazing resources we have in Roseville.
Responsibly developing the annual city budget. Creating a vision for our future.
My senior year of high school, I watched the September 11 attacks on television. This event instilled in me a strong sense of public service. Whether serving 13 years in the U.S. Army with two tours in Iraq, or serving on the Roseville City Council, I will always be a public servant to my community and country.

The more residents know how their City is spending their money, the more they will trust local government to do the right things. This involves communication, engagement, and honesty.
