Recall reports

An effort in Portland, Oregon, to recall City Councilman Nick Fish from his position was launched in October 2016. A group called Don't Shoot Portland announced plans to recall Fish on October 14, 2016.[1] The recall did not go to a vote because petitions were not submitted within 90 days of initiating a petition drive.

Recall supporters

Don't Shoot Portland pursued a recall against Fish due to the city council's approval of a new police contract. Fish and Amanda Fritz were the council members who voted in favor of the contract. Fritz was initially targeted for recall but organizers switched to Fish because Fritz started a new term in January 2017. State law prevents recall efforts against officials in the first six months of their terms.[1]
