A lifelong Tennessean, Nick is a student and researcher of economics, public policy, and social inequality at Vanderbilt University. As a student, community leader, and candidate, his biggest priorities are tackling Tennessee's housing, healthcare, and hunger crises. Nick has experience working for the Tennessee Department of Treasury and the Federal Reserve Board of Governors. While Nick loves conducting policy research, he knows the only way to make real change is to go out and run for it — and that's why he needs your support for District 56!
  • Running with ZERO corporate or PAC donations. Fighting for working class Tennessean.
  • Health care is a human right, not a commodity to be paid for, and it's time our government treated it like one. Expanding the ACA is the bare minimum, we representatives who will fight for guaranteed free at point of care healthcare for all Tennesseans.
  • Housing for all. We need to stop using our state's housing fund to line the pockets of real-estate developers, and instead demand more funding for social housing. Furthermore, rent stabilization and eviction protections are essential to ensuring that all tennesseans are able to live a dignified life with adequate shelter.
Ending Mass Incarceration, and centering Restorative Justice. In Tennessee, 1 in 5 Black residents are barred from voting due to a criminal justice system which structural targets and penalizes the Black community. Legalizing marijuana and ending Cash Bail in Tennessee are two essential steps towards enacting racial justice in our state.
My experience has taught me that policy research and bureaucracy can only take us so far; we will not be able to defeat our right wing legislature without a politics that directly addresses the concerns of working-class Tennesseans. As a representative, I will bring the fight for the working class to the forefront of the legislative agenda, ensuring that all Tennesseans voices are heard, not just those with money and power.
If elected Nick will be the youngest Tennessee State Representative in over 100 years at just 22 years 5 months! He is also running to be the first Gen Z member of the Tennessee legislator -along with friends Noah Nordstrom (26) and Alex Pierce (24), who are also running in the 2024 election cycle-
