My name is Nicholas Hearn. I introduce myself as Nick. I was born in Alabama; however, I have been living in Texas for the past 4 years. I am a Marine Corps Veteran. My beautiful wife Marina and I have two children, our son Eric who is 3, and our daughter Leah who is 1. The number one question I get asked, “Why am I running?” The answer to this question is quite simple. Ever since high school I have always been interested in the American political system, and I have a desire to be a part of it.As to the “Yes… but why now?” I have decided now to run for Texas state House of Representatives after watching this last legislative session where we saw attacks on voting rights, Womens’ reproductive rights, and what local INDEPENDENT school districts can implement for the safety of the children in their districts. After the aforementioned legislation was passed into law I can not abide, in good conscience, sitting idly by without offering my fellow Texans another voice. A voice that will listen to what they want and need the state legislature to do.
