I’m Nick Hubbell, a lifelong resident and advocate for my community. Growing up in District 20, I was taught that community service wasn’t just something you did, it was something you lived for. As a child spending time on my family’s farm, I learned the importance of coming together for something larger than oneself. While working through school, I recognized the pivotal role of strong, supportive communities in fostering bright futures for all. I've been fortunate enough to have been shaped by the values instilled in me from a young age, and I believe that strong communities lead to stronger families, stronger economies, and stronger outcomes for everyone. My lived experiences have reinforced my belief in the power of collaboration and collective action to effect meaningful change for all. That's why I believe the fight for Stronger Communities isn’t simply a campaign slogan, it’s a lifelong commitment. As a candidate for State Senate District 20, I am dedicated to listening to the diverse voices within our community, amplifying our neighbors’ concerns, and working tirelessly to address key issues such as affordable housing, creating strong job opportunities, and improving our crumbling infrastructure.
  • Accessible Housing: To ensure housing accessibility amidst rapid growth, diverse solutions, including accessible pathways to homeownership and preventing community displacement must be considered. By fostering public-private partnerships and community engagement, we can create sustainable housing options while preserving our region's character.
  • Strong Jobs: Ohioans deserve a fair wage that reflects their dedication. Advocating for a $15/hr minimum wage, stronger workplace protections, and the right to organize ensures shared prosperity for all workers and their families.
  • Improving Infrastructure: Investing in infrastructure is vital. Prioritizing repair and modernization of roads, highways, and water systems boosts local economies and ensures clean water. Advocating for highway modernization and universal broadband access contributes to a stronger future.
1. Housing: Safe housing is a human right. Advocating for equitable housing policies combats homelessness and ensures affordable options for all.

2. Unions: Labor unions protect workers and secure fair wages, benefits, and working conditions, fostering a just society.

3. Agriculture: Family farms drive our economy. Supporting sustainable practices and innovation ensures their success in the modern era.

4. Infrastructure: Investing in safe and efficient transportation, broadband access, and critical infrastructure boosts economic growth and quality of life.

5. Homelessness: Compassionate solutions, including supportive services, are essential to address homelessness and rebuild lives.
The most important characteristics for an elected official include empathy, a deep connection with the community, and the ability to actively listen to and understand the concerns of their constituents.
Over the next decade, housing affordability and sustainable economic growth will be paramount challenges for our state.

Ensuring that all residents have access to safe and affordable housing is crucial for community stability and well-being. Additionally, fostering long-term economic growth while preventing economic exploitation will require strategic policies and investments that prioritize equitable opportunities for all residents.
Experience in government or politics can bring valuable insights, but what truly matters is a commitment to serving the community and understanding the needs of the people.

My background as a community advocate and my experience working with local governments have equipped me with the understanding and dedication needed to represent the interests of our district effectively.
