Nick Moe is a lifelong Alaskan with a deep commitment to his community. Born and raised in Anchorage, he attended West and East Anchorage High Schools and the University of Alaska Anchorage. Nick has spent the last two decades tirelessly working to give Alaskans a voice, serving on the boards of five non-profit organizations. He is currently a member of the Anchorage School District Language Immersion Working Group and MIR, a non-profit supporting the Russian language immersion program. As a father of two Turnagain Elementary School students, Nick is deeply concerned by the state of our education system, including teacher retention, class sizes, high drop-out rates, and low test scores. When the legislature chose special interests over long-term education funding, it motivated him to run for the Alaska State House. He has the resume, experience, and skills to be an effective legislator on day one in office. Nick is running because he believes that Alaskans deserve a better deal for their natural resources. We need a government that puts the people's interests first and tackles the critical issues facing our state, including the looming energy crisis, budget shortfalls, and the out-migration of working families.
  • The looming energy crisis in Cook Inlet requires immediate attention and decisive action. I will work tirelessly to find sustainable solutions that increase our self reliance while ensuring affordable and reliable energy for all Alaskans. I reject the notion that we need to import Canadian natural gas.
  • Our state's budget shortfalls demand responsible fiscal management and a long-term vision. I will fight to find balanced, equitable approaches to funding essential services, such as education, public safety, and infrastructure, without overburdening hardworking Alaskan families.
  • Education Funding Securing long-term, sustainable funding for our education system is crucial for the future of our state. I will be a steadfast advocate for our students, teachers, and families, ensuring that they have the resources they need to thrive.
Many of Alaska's challenges are often related to our dependence on Outside energy, food, and workforce. I firmly believe we should invest in Alaskans! I support expanding Alaska-grown food production, using Alaska natural gas and renewable energy to address the Cook Inlet energy crisis, and ensuring that Alaskans are given priority in job opportunities. Our state government and university system should not be hiring out-of-state workers and covering their travel expenses for positions that can be filled locally. If we lack the necessary human resources, let's invest in training and education to equip Alaskans with the skills they need for these jobs!
As your elected official, I will uphold the values of responsiveness, transparency, and advocacy.

Responsiveness

If you need something from my office or help navigating state government, you can count on a timely, same-day response. As a Representative of West Anchorage, I work for you, not political insiders or special interests. It's important to ensure you can count on my office for a timely response or resolution to your issue. If I can't find the answer, I'll work with you to track down more information or introduce an amendment or bill that addresses the issue. I have learned from some of the best legislative leaders in our state, including the late Senator Johnny Ellis. I have worked as a legislative aide in Juneau and have helped countless Alaskans get what they needed from the state government, such as a timely license, Permanent Fund Dividend Check, or SNAP Benefits.

Transparency

Government transparency and accountability are essential. Feel free to contact me in my office or by cell phone if you have an opinion or question or would like to know where I stand on an issue. I will help Alaskans to state government so more people understand what's going on and the state's challenges.

Listener

I value your opinion about important issues and how to make our community a better place to live. I take it seriously when someone takes the time to send an email or phone call to express concern or support for issues that impact them. You can always count on me to be a strong listener in office.
Dishwasher at Country Kitchen in Downtown Anchorage.
I believe in a strong legislative branch that can uphold the separation of powers outlined in our constitution. The governor's excessive vetoes have damaged our communities.
Senator Hollis French, Senator Bill Wielechowski, Representative Jesse Sumner, Representative Calvin Schrage, Jane Angvik, Carol Comeau, and many more.
