Campaign themes

2016

Perez-Garreaud's campaign website highlighted the following issues:

  • If you were not aware Hawaii is a unique place on a little space called Earth. Its diversity of all people has its name renown as a melting pot. This uniqueness about Hawaii has brought a strong feeling of openness, togetherness and safety which we strive to protect for future generations. Today’s politics have been swallowed by big money interests that only care about making the extra dollar and not the security of our home for tomorrow. More and more Hawaii has been pushed for development instead of moving towards more sustainable systems to shelter and protect our waters, critters and lands. This campaign is about bringing awareness to these issues and to represent the people of Hawaii who strive for a cleaner community.[1]
