I am Nicole Stevens, born in Oklahoma's panhandle and graduated from OSU with my BSBA in Hospitality and tourism management. I have worked for a decade in the tourism industry in Colorado and then traveling for United Airlines. My family calls Blanchard home; we have a small 300 acre cow-calf operation in addition to an oilfield services equipment rental LLC. As a conservative Christian leader, I am committed to fighting for the liberties set forth in our constitution that seem to be frequently under the threat of erosion. I believe in the rights of individuals, so actively support parental rights & the Second Amendment. I am pro life to my core. I believe in limited government: less taxation, less bureaucracy, and more efficiency in our state regulations. Our state needs a Representative like me: with hands-on business experience to help Oklahomans recover from COVID and the energy industry depression with practical solutions. I will be a strong advocate for the people of my district and of my state.
  • Nicole Stevens wants to protect Oklahomans from unnecessary regulations that are a barrier to individuals, small business, farmers & ranchers, and favors local control over education choices.
  • I will work to increase financial responsibility & transparency in state agencies and at the Capitol to protect hard-working tax-payers from unnecessary burden.
  • My campaign will always be about Constitutional values - the rights of the people to life, liberty, and pursuing a meaningful life.
As a Representative, I expect to be most passionate about policies affecting Small Business, Agriculture, and the Tourism industry, which are vital to the health and management of our state resources.
My Granny had a huge impact on my life. She was a conservative Christian with a moral compass that surpassed most people I know. She had her pilots license, she was appointed to the State board of cosmetology by Governor Bellman in the sixties and she travelled to Israel to walk where the Lord walked. She took us camping for the first time and she wasn't afraid to work, she truly was the best example for an impressionable young girl like myself. We were extremely close and I'm so thankful we had her for so long. She passed in 2017.

With my life experience growing up in rural Oklahoma, raising a family while helping run two family businesses, & having a decade of management experience in the Hospitality & Tourism industry, I will be a successful legislator who brings a true understanding of my constituents' needs to this role of state Representative.
The core responsibility for Representatives has always been to represent the voters of your local district - acting as their collective voice to effect legislation that meets their needs for safety and successful livelihood while protecting their Constitutional liberties.
It was the Oklahoma City bombing, it had a huge impact on me. I was 15 years old.
My first job was babysitting when was 12. My first official job, was a maintenance job for my high school when I was 16. We mowed, painted, waxed floors etc.. the school only picked 3 kids to do the job every summer. I did it for two summers, it was considered a pretty big deal to be picked.
I truly struggled with the loss of my Granny, she meant so much to me and I looked up to her more than I can articulate. She was like a mother to me and I'm eternally grateful for our relationship and all I learned from her.
I am running for local district Representative; this role has a greater sense of accountability (re-election campaigns every 2 years vs 4 years in Senate). When the voters are not satisfied with a Rep's voting history on key policy issues, they're likely to vote differently in the next election. Also, in Oklahoma, the Senate has more involvement working directly with the Governor for State agency leadership appointments. The House of Representatives would more often draw up legislation dealing with state budget issues: revenue (taxes) and expenses. I will support laws to cut wasteful spending, reduce regulatory red tape, and to increase fiscal transparency between government offices and the public.
While prior experience in a job category typically raises your qualifications, the role of politician may be an exception. Prior history of being a government leader may be helpful in terms of knowing procedural rules, having access to resources, and established political connections. Many voters could see those same benefits as negative points: "politics". Although I do not have prior experience in a government or political role, this may be a positive attribute to voters who have seen their Representative pushing bills for a personal agenda rather than hearing from their own constituents. I will listen & I will address the concerns of my local district first, as the next Representative for HD42.
Oklahoma has had good leadership at the Capitol during the state of emergency. I am concerned that our Governor and Legislators are not coordinating or communicating effectively to ReOpen and Restore our economy. The greatest challenges we face: are political divisions vs collaboration among all branches of government; inefficiency in state programs (antiquated technology, poorly designed public access systems); and over-regulation that prevents individual start-ups & traditional family business from being a successful way of life in Oklahoma.
Of course, I think it's important to build all kinds of relationships, especially with those who are your colleagues. I think it's important to have a respectful working relationship with all of your peers.
