Nicolette M. Ardiente is a dedicated community organizer, advocate, piano teacher and former small business owner. With her BS in International Relations & Diplomacy from Seton Hall University, Nicolette is a non-profit professional who coordinates statewide advocacy efforts supporting the Asian American and Pacific Islander communities to civic action. Nicolette is a passionate advocate for public education, dedicated to ensuring that every student has access to a high-quality, equitable learning experience. She is committed to creating a safe and supportive environment where all students can thrive and reach their full potential. Nicolette’s professional background includes advocacy in all levels of Texas public government at the legislature, county level and city level for all Texans ranging from issues of vouchers, voter suppression, redistricting and AAPI representation. It is imperative that advocates with strong community ties are at the forefront of initiatives to effectively support San Antonio families; the future of Texas depends on the work we do today and I want to fight for Northside!
  • Every child deserves a high-quality education in a safe environment, regardless of background.
  • Our teachers and staff personnel are the backbone of Texas public education. We should be doing more to retain high quality educators, pay them a livable wage and invest in their expertise in the classroom.
  • Most importantly, I want to make sure that Texas taxpayer dollars that pay into Texas public schools - stay in public schools. We know that public schools belong to the public.
The areas of public policy that I am most personally passionate about is facilitating the conversations and engagement about creating civically activated leaders of tomorrow. We need to encourage our students, families and administration about how our government works for the community and how to make these systems much more accessible for our community. I believe my role as the next School Board member would help facilitate these new systems of operation at the school board level.
As I start family planning for the future, I really want to have built something for my children to be proud that their mom - who came all the way from NY/NJ - found her way to Texas to make the world better place. By serving and uplifting our community, one neighbor and neighborhood at a time, we will all continue to make Texas a better place.
The primary job of the school board member is to accurately represent the best interests of the students and families of the ISD while communicating back to the constituents who got that person elected.
Northside AFT #3216, San Antonio AFL-CIO, Asian American Democrats of Texas, Hon. Joe Jaworski - Former Mayor of Galveston, Dr. Kristin Hook - Former Democratic Nominee for TX Congressional District-21, Laurel Jordan Swift - Former Democratic Nominee for TX House of Representatives District 121,
